Google Navigation iPhone

Google Maps Navigation is a GPS navigation system that’s internet-connected and voice-activated. Unfortunately, Google Maps Navigation is currently only available for Androids and Google Navigation iPhone doesn’t seem to be coming any time soon. iPhone users have other alternative GPS apps that can be compared to Google Navigation.

If you’re looking for a specific place or category of business, Google Maps supports searches (that work like searches work on your browser) for a business name or type of business, which none of the iPhone apps have. But Google navigation iPhone apps such as Tom Tom navigation do have extensive Point of Interest databases so you can search for where you want to go that way.

Google Maps also enables “Voice Search” as a hands-free navigation option, and “Traffic View” to get of-the-moment traffic conditions shown on the route in red, green, or yellow. This is also offered by the iPhone’s AT&T Navigator.

There’s a “Car Dock” mode on Google Maps Navigation that, once activated, makes the application even easier to use. This feature is offered with the iPhone’s Tom Tom app, but a major catch is that it only works if you buy a Tom Tom holder.

Among many other features, you can get satellite view of your route and street view on Google Maps Navigation, which none of the iPhone apps can do.

So all in all, Google Maps Navigation beats any iPhone GPS app by a long shot. Hopefully Google Navigation iPhone comes soon!
